COM EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, conducted an official visit to Trebinje, reaffirming EUFOR’s continued presence, operational readiness, and unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mayor of Trebinje, Mr. Mirko Ćurić welcomed Major General Fronda, to discuss local development initiatives and future plans, made possible by the stable security environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The EUFOR Commander reiterated the mission’s strong commitment to close cooperation with domestic authorities, supporting capacity-building efforts that contribute to long-term stability and prosperity.

As part of his visit, the Commander toured the EUFOR Temporary Staging Area (TSA) located at the ‘Bileca’ Barracks, where he was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandar Cosovic, Commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the 4th Infantry Brigade. Major General Fronda reaffirmed EUFOR's determination to carry out the ongoing joint activities with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing the strong cooperation aimed at maintaining interoperability to ensure a safe and protected environment for all citizens.

The visit included a stop at the Swiss LOT House, where Major General Fronda met with EUFOR personnel engaged in daily outreach with local communities. LOT teams provided in-depth updates on their activities, highlighting their key role in maintaining situational awareness, building trust, and strengthening cooperation with local authorities and institutions.

This visit underscores a clear and consistent message: EUFOR remains a credible, ready, and reliable partner, fully committed to preserving peace, security, and stability throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
