EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda, accompanied by personnel from EUFOR’s Slovenian Liaison and Observation Team (LOT), visited Gradiška and Derventa as part of his continued engagement with local authorities and EUFOR personnel deployed across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During his visit to Gradiška, Major General Fronda met with the Mayor of Gradiška, Mr. Zoran Adžić, to discuss the current security environment and the importance of maintaining close cooperation between EUFOR and local institutions. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and reaffirm the value of regular dialogue in strengthening understanding and supporting long-term stability.

Following the meeting, Major General Fronda travelled to the Derventa Temporary Staging Area, where he was welcomed by the BiH AF Eng Bn team lead by Major Bahtija AHMIČ. Discussions focused on the role of the Temporary Staging Area in supporting the mission, and the importance of maintaining well-trained and capable forces prepared to fulfil EUFOR’s mandate.

Speaking following the visit, Major General Fronda highlighted the importance of engagement at both the community and operational levels.

"Maintaining a safe and secure environment relies on strong partnerships, both with local communities and within our own multinational force. Visits such as these strengthen cooperation, enhance mutual understanding, and ensure EUFOR remains ready to fulfil its mission in support of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Major General Fronda. The visit reaffirmed EUFOR’s commitment to maintaining close cooperation with local authorities while ensuring its personnel remain ready, capable, and prepared to support peace, stability, and a safe and secure environment throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
