EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda welcomed a United Kingdom delegation to Camp Butmir, led by the Rt. Hon. Stephen Doughty MP, Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories. The delegation was accompanied by the United Kingdom Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Julian Reilly.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region, while reaffirming the shared commitment of the United Kingdom and EUFOR to supporting peace, stability, and security throughout the country.
Discussions also focused on the importance of continued cooperation between international partners in supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to maintain a safe and secure environment. Both parties emphasised the value of close coordination, dialogue, and a shared understanding of the evolving security landscape.
Speaking following the meeting, Major General Fronda highlighted the importance of strong international partnerships.
“Maintaining peace and stability requires close cooperation and a shared commitment among international partners. Together, we remain focused on supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens,” said Major General Fronda.
The visit reaffirmed the strong relationship between EUFOR and the United Kingdom, underscoring the importance of continued engagement and cooperation in support of long-term peace, stability, and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
