EUFOR Deputy Commander Brigadier General Bálint Legoza, attended the Change of Command Ceremony of the Chilean Contingent, marking the formal transfer of authority and responsibility between the outgoing and incoming Contingent Commanders.

The Change of Command Ceremony is a long-standing military tradition, symbolising the continuity of leadership, the transfer of responsibility, and the enduring commitment of military personnel to their mission. It also provides an opportunity to recognise the dedication and achievements of the outgoing commander and contingent, while welcoming those who will continue their important work in support of EUFOR’s mission.

During the ceremony, Brigadier General Bálint Legoza expressed his sincere appreciation to the personnel of the 42nd Chilean Contingent under the leadership of LTC Gutierrez for their professionalism, commitment, and valuable contribution to Operation ALTHEA. Their service has played an important role in supporting EUFOR’s mandate and maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Brigadier General Legoza also welcomed the incoming contingent, expressing confidence that they will continue the proud tradition established by their predecessors and further strengthen the excellent cooperation between Chile and EUFOR.
