Today, a convoy of Romanian troops, vehicles and equipment made the journey from their home units to Camp Butmir, crossing into Bosnia and Herzegovina via Svilaj.
This deployment comes as EUFOR continues to prepare for Exercise Quick Response 2026, an annual exercise aimed at rehearsing the activation of EUFOR’s reserve, increasing its presence, capability and ability to respond to any scenario wherever and whenever required.
Over the coming days, citizens may observe an increased presence of EUFOR activity as it receives its reserve forces across all of Bosnia and Herzegovina. EUFOR is cooperating with local communities and Law Enforcement Agencies to minimize any disruption this may cause to the daily patterns of life within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The considerable increase of EUFOR troops, equipment and enabling assets provides vital training value. This ability to receive and integrate forces quickly and effectively is central to EUFOR’s ability to continue its mandate in supporting local institutions, the Armed Forces of BiH and Law Enforcement Agencies in the provision of a Safe, Secure and Stable environment for all citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
