Deputy Commander EUFOR, Brigadier General Legoza, welcomed a delegation from the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX), led by Deputy Executive Director Mr. Lars Gerdes, to Camp Butmir for discussions on strengthening cooperation in support of safety, security and stability across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting built upon the Joint Declaration of Intent signed by EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda and FRONTEX Executive Director Mr. Hans Leijtens in Sarajevo on 2 June 2026, reaffirming the shared commitment of both organisations to enhancing cooperation within their respective mandates.

During the meeting, Brigadier General Legoza and Mr. Gerdes discussed areas of mutual interest and explored opportunities to further develop practical cooperation. Their discussions focused on strengthening coordination and information exchange in support of a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Speaking following the meeting, Brigadier General Legoza said:
