The Chief of Staff of EUFOR, Brigadier General Traian T. Maghercă, visited the 4th Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the German Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) House in Čapljina.
During the visit to the 4th Infantry Brigade, COS EUFOR met with the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Slaven Blavicki. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s security environment, the importance of close cooperation with AF BiH at all levels, and on the ongoing training and cooperation carried out between EUFOR troops and the AF BiH. In particular General Maghercă reaffirm EUFOR’s operational preparedness across Bosnia and Herzegovina and underline the importance of combined training and exercises, conducted jointly by EUFOR and the Armed Forces of BiH, aimed at improving interoperability, coordination, and readiness in responding to crisis situations.
At the German LOT House in Čapljina, COS EUFOR met with the LOT members who work closely with the local community and maintain regular contact with local authorities and citizens. Their presence on the ground provides EUFOR with a direct connection to communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, helping to build trust, maintain awareness of the local security environment and strengthen cooperation with local partners.
These engagements reaffirm EUFOR’s commitment to maintain stability and strengthen mutual understanding with Armed Forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They send a clear message: through presence, dialogue and cooperation EUFOR continues to work with its partners and remains fully committed to maintaining impartially a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
