Deputy Commander of EUFOR, Brigadier General Bálint Legoza, visited Travnik on 23rd September, conducting engagements with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and the EUFOR Liaison and Observation Team House in Travnik.
During his visit to TRADOC, Brigadier General Legoza met with Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Colonel Nikola Ištuk, who delivered an overview of its current activities, training priorities and role within the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
TRADOC is headquartered at Travnik Barracks and oversees a network of training centers responsible for areas including basic training, professional development, combat training, simulation, peace support operations and mine action/EOD training.
The engagement provided an opportunity to exchange views on ongoing cooperation between EUFOR and the AFBiH, with particular emphasis on training, professional development and strengthening practical interoperability between both organisations.
EUFOR and TRADOC have a long history of cooperation in the field of military education and training, including previous support to command and staff courses and professional development activities.
Brigadier General Legoza also visited the EUFOR LOT House in Travnik, where he met EUFOR personnel stationed there, and received an update on their activities and engagement within the local area.
EUFOR’s LOT Houses maintain regular contact with local authorities, institutions and communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, contributing to situational awareness and providing EUFOR with direct insight into developments at local level. Previous senior-level visits to Travnik have highlighted the importance of these relationships and the trust built between LOT personnel and local communities.
The visit reflected EUFOR’s continued commitment to close cooperation with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to maintaining a visible, credible and impartial presence throughout the country.
