More than 100 EUFOR personnel from 11 nations were awarded the EUFOR Service Medal during an International Medal Parade held at EUFOR Headquarters in Camp Butmir.
Personnel from Albania, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Türkiye, and Poland received their medals from EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda, recognising their dedicated service and contribution to Operation Althea.
The ceremony provided an opportunity to celebrate the professionalism and commitment of personnel serving across EUFOR, while highlighting the multinational character that remains one of the mission’s greatest strengths.
Speaking during the ceremony, Major General Fronda praised the collective contribution of those receiving their medals.
“Today, we recognise your service, professionalism, and commitment. Although you represent many different nations, you serve together as one team with a shared purpose and a common commitment to peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina,”
said Major General Fronda.
The International Medal Parade reflected the strong bonds, shared values, and unity of purpose among EUFOR personnel, demonstrating the strength of multinational cooperation in support of a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
