On Tuesday 6 September 2016 the Operational Commander of EUFOR Operation Althea, General Sir Adrian Bradshaw was welcomed by EUFOR Commander Major General Friedrich Schrötter. Upon arrival he was greeted by the EUFOR Branch Chiefs and an honour guard from the Multi-National Battalion (MNBN) consisting of Austrian and Turkish Soldiers.

His first appointment was a meeting with Colonel John Campbell, the newly appointed Director of Staff of the EU Command Element, Naples. Following that, General Bradshaw had a joint office call with COM EUFOR and COM NATO Sa Brigadier General Giselle Wilz.

General Bradshaw has been appointed the Operational commander since March 2014, when he took the post of Deputy Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces (NATO) in Europe. According to the agreement known as the Berlin Plus Agreement, the person performing this key command function also commands Operation EUFOR Althea.
