AFBiH contribution to international Peace-Support Operations

Reflecting on recent events, COMEUFOR Major General Schrötter is satisfied that AFBiH are able to contribute substantially to peace support operation, which is a significant step change.

Future capacity building and training will focus on combined training at company level, enhancing credibility to contribute to peace support operations overseas with EU, NATO and UN counterparts. AFBiH also continues to progress whole state resilience in order to support other tasking such as flood or disaster relief.

Already during a recent visit by Deputy Commander KFOR Brigadier General Korom, AFBiH were able to demonstrate to the international military community their ability to engage effectively in enhanced operations with their international partners.

EUFOR will continue to be ready at all times to respond quickly and decisively in order to protect a safe and secure environment should they be called upon by BiH authorities.

Since 2004, EUFOR has been responsible for engaging BiH in a wider EU and international approach, focusing on Capacity Building and Training of AFBiH. This was proven during the recent Exercise QUICK RESPONSE 2016, demonstrating that AFBiH have enhanced their ability to commit larger scale forces in achieving these goals.
