A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning the joint training and cooperation plan between EUFOR and the Armed Forces Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed on 20th October 2023 at the AF BiH command in Sarajevo.
The training plan was signed by EUFOR Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Ovidiu LUNGU, and Major General Ivica JERKIĆ, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff AF BiH for Operations. After signing the joint training and cooperation plan, and Major General Ivica Jerkić stated that:
“This ceremony is of great importance and confirms the relationship of cooperation and trust that we have with EUFOR”.
The agreement between AFBiH and EUFOR covers liaison and co-ordination, specialist mentoring, combined training, and joint exercises.
Brigadier General Ovidiu LUNGU praised the training efforts of EUFOR and AFBIH, and highlighted the importance of combined training activities for the future development of AF BiH and he mention that when EUFOR and AF BiH work together we can easily achieve our mission of supporting the authorities of BiH in securing a safe and secure environment
