17 Sep 2017 - More than 20 EUFOR members participated together with runners from NATO HQ Sarajevo in the Sarajevo Half Marathon. Gym instructor Željko Puljić represented Camp Butmir's local staff. All runners reached the finish line of the demanding course going through the most beautiful parts of the city.
The running competition started and ended in front of the BBI centre downtown Sarajevo. Fastest EUFOR finishers were Jorge Juan Picallo from Spain (1:34 hrs) and Victor Eduardo Oyarzo Avila (1:35 hrs) from Chile.
Commander EUFOR, Major General Anton Waldner, encouraged EUFOR staff to participate in the sports competition and sponsored a special EUFOR marathon shirt for the participants. The entire EUFOR participation was organized by Command Sergeant Major Soos and supported by MWA under the motto "Together on the same path - Zajedno na istom putu."
