On 9 February 2016, Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Marek Tomaszycki visited the Headquarters of the European Union Force (HQ EUFOR) in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo.

Welcomed by an honour guard assembled from soldiers of the EUFOR Multinational Battalion, Lieutenant General Tomaszycki then conducted an office call with Commander EUFOR, Major General Johann Luif. During this call, Major General Luif thanked Lieutenant General Tomaszycki for the support of the Polish Armed Forces. Poland’s continued important contribution to EUFOR was discussed, including the essential positions they hold in HQ EUFOR and across the wider EUFOR Mission.

Poland has personnel employed in various branches of EUFOR. This includes supporting the EUFOR Military Police function, and Capacity Building and Training (CB&T) in support of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH). The Polish Armed Forces also support the EUFOR Mission through their Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) house, based in Doboj.
