EUFOR Commander Major General Fronda met with the Ambassador of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Alfred Grannas, at the German Embassy in Sarajevo. The meeting formed part of the Commander’s ongoing engagement with diplomatic partners and provided an opportunity to discuss how EUFOR and the German Embassy can best support Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Grannas and Major General Fronda exchanged views on the current security situation and underlined the importance of sustained international engagement in strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s institutions. Major General Fronda expressed appreciation for Germany’s longstanding and substantial contributions to EUFOR, noting the professionalism and dedication of German personnel serving within Operation Althea. Both sides highlighted the value of close cooperation with EU Member States and diplomatic representatives in the country. Discussions also touched on EUFOR’s continued efforts to maintain a safe and secure environment, including its capacity‑building activities with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
EUFOR remains committed to working closely with all contributing nations as it fulfils its mandate under Operation Althea. Major General Fronda reiterated his intention for EUFOR to remain a visible, credible, and impartial presence throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
