On 26th of June 2013, the Commander of EUFOR, Major General (MG) Dieter HEIDECKER, accompanied by the MA to the OP CDR, Lt Colonel Nikolas Meunier from Mons, visited the Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) in Trebinje. The LOT is composed of members of the Swiss Contingent of EUFOR and their great hospitality was felt throughout the day.
After having been briefed about the current situation in their area of responsibility by Deputy SNR from LOT Coordination Centre, Maj Wyss Christoph, the guests were invited to take a small tour around the town of Trebinje. COM EUFOR together with his staff were amazed by the beauty of the town and its rich cultural and historical heritage. Trebinje is the southernmost city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is located 10 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea, and it is the economic and cultural center of Eastern Herzegovina.
COM EUFOR has recently visited all 17 LOT Houses in BiH, personnel from which are responsible for supporting the development of the safe and secure environment in BiH. The tour of LOT houses concluded for COM EUFOR, in the city of the sun and platan trees Trebinje.
