EUFOR can confirm that a new confirmed case (1) of COVID-19 occurred in Camp Butmir. The individual concerned had followed all medical guidance and was isolated immediately on feeling the first symptoms and has been under the care of EUFOR medical personnel. Personnel who have been in close contact with the individual will be isolated until receving clearance from medical personnel.

This is to date the only case in EUFOR after the soldier with a confirmed infection last week was transported home, by an aircraft equipped with a quarantine platform as a preventative measure, for monitoring and potential further treatment.

Due to EUFOR’s continued preventative measures, which comply with measures introduced by the host nation, movement of personnel has been limited, reducing the risk of transmission to the local community.
