Major General Dieter Heidecker attended his final Heads of Missions Meeting as Commander EUFOR today. He summarised his 2 years of duty, thanking all the members for their co-operation.
The Heads of Missions held a regular meeting today (9 December 2014) of which COM EUFOR is a permanent committee member. The Heads of Missions comprises of the heads of the EU Special Representative, EU delegation and European Embassies who meet bi-weekly.

Commander EUFOR, Major General Dieter Heidecker said “Over the last two years, I appreciated and took benefit of being a member of the EU family. This institutional arrangement offered me the possibility to be part of policy debates that gave new directions to the EU strategy of BiH. The EU comprehensive approach in BiH is a must, not an option. The level of integration achieved by the military and the civilian component is what makes each component stronger and demonstrates beyond doubt the EU’s commitment to BiH”
COM EUFOR will give his final press statement at the EU Info Centre on Friday 12 December 2014 and formally hand over Command of EUFOR to his successor during a Change of Command Ceremony on 17 December 2014 at Camp Butmir.
