EUFOR Headquarters today hosted the 6th Meeting of the Strategic Committee for Arms, Ammunition and Explosive Ordnance. The Committee, led by the BiH Ministry of Defence, included senior representatives from Armed Forces BiH, NATO, EUFOR, the OSCE mission to BiH, the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the Office of the Special Representative of the EU in BiH and Embassies of the United States, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden.

Key surplus ammunition meeting held at EUFOR HQ

It aims to address the issues of surplus ammunition within BiH, compiling tasks and setting timelines for action to be taken.
Commander EUFOR, Major General Dieter Heidecker, said, “EUFOR is an ardent supporter and key member of this Committee’s work, remaining absolutely committed to assisting BiH in efforts to dispose of ammunition, weapons and explosive ordnance. We fully support the BiH authorities in this essential aspect of security and in maintaining the safe and secure environment.”
