Troops of the Strategic Reserve Force (SRF) of EUFOR are already in Bosnia and Herzegovina and now their equipment also arrived. They will be soon conducting patrols across BiH and training with EUFOR in-theatre forces and elements of Armed Forces of BiH.

On 9 May 2014, EUFOR Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Anrdras Szucs welcomed General Hulusi Akar, the Turkish Land Forces Commander in EUFOR Camp Butmir.
Brigadier General Andras Szucs welcomed General Akar in Camp Butmir. During the office call, the EUFOR Chief of Staff, thanked the Turkish General for the support to the EUFOR Mission. The two Generals also discussed the way ahead. Turkey is one of the troop contributing nations that is not member of the European Union.

 

Turkey contributes with 230 soldiers serving in all EUFOR’s areas, including the HQ, the Multi-National Battalion and Liaison and Observation Teams. EUFOR’s Liaison and Observation Teams, led by different nations are based in 17 locations throughout the countryfrom Banja Luka and Brcko to Mostar and Visegrad.

Through these teams EUFOR liaises and engages with the local authorities and the general public in the areas where they work.
