Commander EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, hosted a high-level delegation from the Senate of the Czech Republic today at Camp Butmir.
The delegation was led by Mr Jan Schiller, Chairman of the Committee on EU Affairs, and included Mr Jiří Dušek, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Mr Jiří Čunek, Committee Member, H.E. Ms Jana K. Lolić Šindelková, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mr Josef Zrzavecký, Deputy Ambassador.
During the visit, Major General Fronda provided a comprehensive briefing on EUFOR Althea’s current tasks and the implementation of its mandate across Bosnia and Herzegovina. The discussion focused on the security environment in the country and EUFOR’s ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and secure environment for all citizens. COM EUFOR also commended the role of Czech Republic in maintaining stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular praise for the EUFOR’s Czech contingent for their professionalism and dedication to role they play in successfully implementing EUFOR’s mandate.
Mr. Schiller highlighted that the visit offered an important opportunity for the delegation to gain a deeper understanding of the security challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the daily contribution of EUFOR throughout the country.
The visit was conducted as part of the official working programme of the Committee on EU Affairs of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
