EUFOR and AF BiH Complete Live Phase of Annual "Combined Response 26" Exercise at Manjača

The European Union Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR), in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted the live phase of the annual military exercise “Combined Response 26” from 20 to 24 April 2026 at the Armed Forces Training Area in Manjača.

This exercise represented the culmination of a comprehensive training programme conducted across Bosnia and Herzegovina since the beginning of March 2026. Preparatory activities included training and command-post exercises in Kiseljak and Pazarić, designed to enhance coordination, planning, and operational effectiveness between EUFOR and Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina personnel.

“Combined Response 26” is a key annual exercise aimed at strengthening command and control structures, improving interoperability, and ensuring joint readiness to respond to a wide range of security scenarios. The exercise involved troops from EUFOR’s Multinational Battalion, alongside personnel from 2nd Battalion of the 5th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including mechanized elements, aviation assets, and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams.

During the live exercise phase, the troops conducted realistic Peace Support Operations (PSO) scenarios, including tactical maneuvers, medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), and coordinated air-ground operations.

These activities were designed to enhance the ability of multinational and domestic forces to operate together effectively under challenging and dynamic conditions.

EUFOR remains a credible, visible, and impartial multinational force committed to supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining a safe and secure environment. The successful conduct of exercise demonstrated EUFOR’s continued dedication to cooperation, transparency, and the development of sustainable security capabilities in line with its mandate.
