EUFOR conduct CIS training with AF BiH_1

In August 13 a team of Turkish soldiers began training the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH) in Communications and Information Systems capabilities. On 19th August 2013, a Turkish mentoring team, consisting of two experienced instructors, arrived in Camp BUTMIR, SARAJEVO to begin their preparations to deliver a specialised CIS course to the AF BiH.

Austrian CBRN Team arrives in BiH_2
Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) defense is one of the key elements in force protection. All modern army soldiers needs to be trained how to protect themselves in case of weapons of mass destruction usage or toxic industrial material release. Capacity building and training of Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH) in CBRN defense is one of the main activities of EUFOR. Key player in AF BiH CBRN defense is the CBRN Company from Tuzla. From the year 2010 they received from EUFOR and foreign teams more than thousand hours of training and now AF BiH CBRN trainers will take over the teaching to other AF Bih units.

Multinational Battalion troop rotation at EUFOR_3
On 16 Jul 13, the current Austrian troops held at readiness inside EUFOR’s Camp Butmir, SARAJEVO were replaced by a new contingent of Hungarian soldiers.
In accordance with Annex 1A of the Dayton Peace Accord and reviewed on an annual basis (currently UN Security Council Resolution 2074), EUFOR holds a mandate to ensure that the Safe and Secure Environment (SASE) is maintained in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

Making a difference – EUFOR LOT BRCKO donates ‘Zimmer’ frames_1
On 16 July 2013 members of the EUFOR LOT house in BRCKO organized the donation of 5 Zimmer frames to the local Red Cross office to help people with temporary and permanent mobility issues.
In a small ceremony, and in the presence of local media, in front of the Red Cross office in the BRCKO District, members of the EUFOR LOT House handed over 5 walking frames or “Zimmer” frames to the Red Cross Office Manager Denis ŠEHANOVIĆ.

H-COY – Hungry for the Mission_1

July 13 saw a new Hungarian Company join the Multinational Battalion, EUFOR’s military maneuver unit inside Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Maintaining stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is considered very important to the Hungarian Government and this has been demonstrated through their continued support of the EUFOR mission.  Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) have been participating in Operation ALTHEA since 2004 as one of the main troop contributing nations.
