A delegation of EU diplomats visited EUFOR on 28 September 2012.
The diplomats belong to the European Union’s Working Party on the Western Balkans Region (COWEB). They were welcomed to Camp Butmir by the EUFOR Chief of Staff Brigadier General Ernő Péter Siposs.

Company commanders from Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United Kingdom spent 26 September at Rajlovac Barracks working with their counterparts from the Armed Forces BiH. They were joined by troops from EUFOR’s Multi-National Battalion in a planning exercise.

Major General Leonardo Martínez Menanteau from Chile was welcomed to Camp Butmir on 25 September 2012 by Major General Robert Brieger, the Commander of EUFOR.
With 12,438 km separating the Chilean capital Santiago from Sarajevo, the Chilean troops have by far the greatest distance to travel to participate in Operation Althea out of all the 24 EUFOR troop contributing nations. Chilean soldiers are currently fulfilling a number of important roles in the EUFOR HQ as well as running the Liaison Observation Team (LOT) House in Banja Luka.
