EU Diplomats Visit EUFOR_1
Delegation of EU diplomats with Brigadier General Ernő Péter Siposs.

A delegation of EU diplomats visited EUFOR on 28 September 2012.
The diplomats belong to the European Union’s Working Party on the Western Balkans Region (COWEB). They were welcomed to Camp Butmir by the EUFOR Chief of Staff Brigadier General Ernő Péter Siposs.

EUFOR’s New Reserve Troops in Training Exercise with AFBiH_1
Soldiers from BiH and Romania working together in a planning exercise
Reserve EUFOR troops from several European nations have travelled to Bosnia and Herzegovina to conduct an ambitious collective training exercise with troops from the Armed Forces BiH.
Company commanders from Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United Kingdom spent 26 September at Rajlovac Barracks working with their counterparts from the Armed Forces BiH.  They were joined by troops from EUFOR’s Multi-National Battalion in a planning exercise.

Chilean General Visits EUFOR HQ_1
Major General Brieger welcomes Brigadier General Leonardo to EUFOR.

Major General Leonardo Martínez Menanteau from Chile was welcomed to Camp Butmir on 25 September 2012 by Major General Robert Brieger, the Commander of EUFOR.
With 12,438 km separating the Chilean capital Santiago from Sarajevo, the Chilean troops have by far the greatest distance to travel to participate in Operation Althea out of all the 24 EUFOR troop contributing nations.  Chilean soldiers are currently fulfilling a number of important roles in the EUFOR HQ as well as running the Liaison Observation Team (LOT) House in Banja Luka.

COM EUFOR Visits the new LOT Coordination Centre_1
The Liaison Observation Team (LOT) members in Camp Butmir were honoured to be visited by the EUFOR Commander, Major General Robert Brieger on 21 September 2012.  This was General Brieger’s first visit to the newly created LOT Coordination Centre (LCC) which has replaced the three Regional Coordination Centres (RCCs).  The LCC is responsible for the management and coordination of all LOT activities throughout BIH.

Speaker of the Canadian Senate Visits EUFOR_1
Major General Robert Brieger welcomes The Honourable Noel Kinsella to EUFOR.

A Canadian delegation led by the Speaker of the Canadian Senate, the Honourable Noel Kinsella was welcomed to Camp Butmir by Major General Robert Brieger, the Commander of EUFOR on 14 September 2012.

Slovak Deputy Chief of Defence visits EUFOR_1

(L-R) Major General Brieger welcomes Major General Kocian to EUFOR.

The Slovak Deputy Chief of Defence, Major General Miroslav Kocian visited the EUFOR HQ and the Liaison Observation Team (LOT) Houses in Novo Sarajevo and Visegrad during a two day visit on 10th and 11th September 2012.
