General McColl has had a long connection with Bosnia and Herzegovina having served with UNPROFOR and IFOR.
He took the salute at a farewell ceremony where elements of the Multi National Battalion (MNBN) paraded for him. They were followed by a fly past from the EUFOR helicopters based in Camp Butmir.

On the 27th January 2011 His Excellency Mr. Tom Brady, Ambassador of Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia returned to Camp Butmir to mark the rotation of the Irish Contingent serving in EUFOR.
During an Office Call with COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair, he was updated on the current status of the operation. The General praised the contribution that the outgoing contingent had made to EUFOR and fully expects the new contingent to maintain their high standards.

On the 26th January 2011, COS EUFOR, Brigadier General Günter Giesa took off from ARCHER BASE, Camp Butmir and headed for Regional Coordination Center (RCC) West for two Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) House visits. A short 20 minute flight, in beautiful wintry weather conditions, brought him to the LOT House in Travnik.
The LOT House Commander, Captain Frans Leijtens from the Netherlands, welcomed the Chief of Staff and introduced his team. Captain Leijtens then briefed COS on the current situation in the LOT’s Area of Responsibility and their main areas of activity. Before his departure Brigadier General Giesa visited the stronghold of Travnik, which was built in 1503.
