During an Office Call with COM EUFOR the Admiral discussed the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the work of the EUFOR mission, and the present formation and capabilities of the Op Althea forces.

On the 14th February 2011, COM EUFOR hosted the Polish Chargé d’Affaires in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms Emanuela Suprowicz, for lunch in Camp Butmir. Ms Suprowicz is the senior Polish representative in the country in the absence of a permanent Ambassador at the moment.
Major General Bernhard Bair was joined by a number of the Polish Military serving on his staff and they discussed the general situation in the country and the continuing support that Poland provides to the Op Althea Mission.
Polish troops man two LOT Houses in the north of BiH, provide specialist staff for the Mobile Training Teams working with the Armed Forces of BiH, as well as staff in the HQ. COM EUFOR praised their contribution and the experience that they bring to the operation.

On the 9th February 2011, COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair, had the pleasure of welcoming Brigadier General Steven L. Kwast to Camp Butmir. During an Office Call he received a briefing on the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the activities of EUFOR.
Brigadier General Kwast is the Deputy Director for Politico-Military Affairs for Europe, NATO, and Russia, Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate, Joint Staff, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for recommending policy positions on issues related to Europe, Eurasia, and NATO to the Director for Strategic Plans and Policy and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

On the 8th February 2011, COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair, welcomed the Commander of the Armed Forces College, Major General Bülent Dağsali, to EUFOR.
During their Office Call they discussed the general security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the continuing contribution of Turkish troops to the Op Althea Mission. Turkey is one of the largest troop contributing nations to the mission, supplying manpower to the Multinational Battalion, leading a Regional Coordination Centre (RCC Centre), operating 6 Liaison and Observation Teams, leading the Integrated Police Unit and filling posts in the EUFOR HQ. COM EUFOR praised the professionalism of the Turkish troops under his Command and their contribution to the work of EUFOR.
