On 9th September 2010, COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair, met Ambassador Mr Daan Everts who is leading the ODIHR Election Observation Mission (EOM) for the coming elections. The purpose of the visit was for the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to understand the work that EUFOR has been undertaking in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ensuring a safe and secure environment, and to explain the ODIHR mission in the country. The ODIHR will assess and report on the conduct of the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The analysts will assess and make recommendations to improve the legal framework, the political campaign, the role of media, the work of the election administration and the complaints and appeals process.

On 8th September 2010, COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair, met in Butmir Camp Sarajevo, with a high ranking delegation of American Officials from the United States European Command (EUCOM).
Discussions focused on providing a safe and secure environment for all of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina and training for the Armed Forces of BiH. COM EUFOR highlighted the conditions and the way ahead towards EU and NATO membership for the country.

On 6th September 2010, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency, Dr. Andrzej Tyszkiewicz, made his farewell call on COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair, in Camp Butmir Sarajevo.
The Republic of Poland remains a staunch supporter of the European Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and contributes a significant number of troops to EUFOR. In particular, Polish soldiers are serving with distinction as part of the Multi National Manouevre Battalion. Major General Bair was quick to praise their overriding professionalism and wished the Ambassador and his successor the very best with their respective future endeavours.

COM EUFOR briefed the esteemed guest on EUFOR activities and the current security situation within BiH. Mr. Roland Gilles expressed his desire to continue the close cooperation and involvement with EUFOR activities of his predecessor, whose cooperation and involvement with EUFOR activities such as EUFOR School Competition 2010 was exemplary.
