On the 14 March 2011, members of the Austrian strategic leadership course, supervised by Lieutenant General Christian Segur-Cabanac, undertook a two day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The distinguished guests commenced their visit in the PSOTC with a brief by COM EUFOR. General Bair provided the course attendees with an introduction into the tasks of EUFOR.
On the second day, the delegation visited Sarajevo where the course participants gained an insight into the tasks of the Austrian embassy and the economic situation of the country. The group had the opportunity to have discussions with the OHR, Dr Inzko and received briefings from key speakers on the role of the EUPM and OSCE in BiH.

On the 14 March 2011, Commander Swiss Armed Forces International Command SWISSINT, Colonel Fridolin Keller, paid a formal visit to EUFOR to receive an update on the Op Althea Mission and meet with Swiss troops.
During the course of his visit, he had discussions with Major General Bernhard Bair, Commander EUFOR, where he was briefed on the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As part of his two day visit, Colonel Keller will take the opportunity to visit Mostar where he will meet with the Swiss troops who man the Liaison and Observation Teams (LOT) houses at Mostar and Trebinje. The LOT house system allows the EUFOR contingents to build warm and professional relations with their neighbours and the local authorities with the aim of helping the local population live together in a stable and multi-ethnic environment.

On the 10th March 2011, a group of three Masters students of Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, visited EUFOR HQ Sarajevo.
The students were in BiH on a week long study tour for their seminar “Case Studies and Field Research” and were welcomed to Camp Butmir by COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair.
The EUFOR Chief Political Advisor, Colonel Thomas Rois, gave the guests a detailed overview of EUFOR activities. This was followed by a presentation by the EUFOR Spokesperson, Lt Cdr Andy Mullins.

On 3rd March 2011, 78 soldiers from 4 countries gathered in Banja Luka to receive their Op Althea Medals in front of a gathering of VIPs. General Novaković from the Armed Forces of BiH and a number of Military Attachés attended to see Major General Bernhard Bair and the Senior National Representatives (SNR) award medals to the soldiers serving in the Regional Coordination Centre West area of operations.
In his comments about the nationalities represented at the ceremony COM EUFOR said “it is pleasing to see 4 contingents represented on parade. This is an example of multinational peacekeeping at its best and is a very positive sign from your governments and armed forces to EUFOR and the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.” He also thanked Lt Col Profijt, the RCC West Commander and Dutch SNR, for organising the successful medal parade.
