Change of Command in Austrian Contingent

16th May - On Saturday 16th May all Austrian soldiers were assembled in the Camp Edelweiss in Tuzla. The reason for the assembly was the medal parade and the Change of Command ceremony of the Austrian National Contingent Commander. Lieutenant Geneneral Günther Höfler, Commander of the Austrian Joint Forces Command and EUFOR Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Robert Löwenstein, came to Tuzla to award the soldiers of Austrian contingent with the EUFOR ALTHEA Service Medal.
After the medal parade LG Günther Höfler handed over the command of the Austrian contingent in Bosnia and Herzegovina from Colonel Hermann Lattacher to the new EUFOR JMA Chief Colonel Peter Vorhofer. In his speech BG Löwenstein thanked Colonel Lattacher for his outstanding will to fullfill the JMA's tasks and handed him over a recommandation of COM EUFOR, Major General Stefano Castagnotto. After the official part, the Austrian contingent invited all the international, military and civilian guests who took part in the ceremony to a large buffet and dance.
