Major General Robert Brieger, Commander of EUFOR (COM EUFOR) paid an official visit to the Joint Forces Command of the Hungarian Defence Forces (JFC HDF), in Székesfehérvár on 7th June 2012. General Brieger undertook an Office Call with Major General László Domján, Commander of JFC HDF, where ongoing issues were discussed regarding the general situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the West Balkan region including current operational activities of EUFOR in BiH.
COM EUFOR received a briefing from JFC HDF on the structure and allocations of the subordinate units and also on the Hungarian peace support commitments. General Brieger at the same time informed his partner about the current issues of the Op ALTHEA’s transition.
Hungary is one of the largest contributors of troops to EUFOR. They are serving in a wide variety of appointments including the Chief of Staff position and several staff officers alongside an Infantry Company.
General Brieger thanked General Domján for the contribution of Hungary to EUFOR, and highlighted the professionalism and dedication of the Hungarian personnel serving in the mission area.
General Domján reaffirmed Hungary’s commitment to EUFOR as a priority of the country in the future.
