Change of Command ceremony - Austrian NCC

New AUT NCC COL(GS) Peter Pertl

On 5th June a Change of Command ceremony marking the transfer of authority of the Austrian national contingent from COL(GS) Jürgen Baranyai to COL(GS) Peter Pertl took place in Camp Butmir. Commander of EUFOR, Major General Robert Brieger, thanked the outgoing National Contingent Commander (NCC) for the outstanding job he has done and wished the new NCC all the best in his new job of responsibility.

 

The handover of the Austrian flag as the symbol of transferring the authority was done by Brigadier General Günter Ruderstaler from the Austrian Joint Forces Command. The whole Multi-National Battalion plus the Austrian airmen and HQ soldiers were part of the lined up troops. In attendance at the ceremony were, amongst others, Dr. Valentin Inzko, High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Austrian ambassador Dr. Donatus Koeck.
