The EU Open Day took place on the 28th of May 2016 at European External Action Service (EEAS) Capital Building at the Schuman roundabout in Brussels. This annual event is designed to give the wider public an insight of the work by the various European Union missions and delegations.
Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/ Vice-President of the Commission and General Michail Kostarakos, Chairman of the European Union Military Committee (EUMC) visited the EUFOR ALTHEA stand.
European Union missions and delegations operating alongside their colleagues worldwide; EUFOR ALTHEA represented the European Union’s ongoing support to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Capacity Building and Training.
Throughout the EU Open Day, many visitors showed their keen interest to the event, including Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/ Vice-President of the Commission, as well as General Michail Kostarakos, Chairman of the European Union Military Committee (EUMC), and Lieutenant General Esa Pulkinnen, Director General of the European Union Military Staff (EUMS).
Alongside high-level officials there was also a large number of students that visited the EUFOR ALTHEA stand expressing their interest in the EUFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
