COM EUFOR visits Liaison Observation Team (LOT) House in Bugojno

COM EUFOR and Team

On 5th August, COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair, paid a visit to the Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) House in Bugojno. The LOT House is manned by personnel from Bulgaria and comes under the co-ordination of the Regional Coordination Centre (RCC) West. Major Mihaylov Zhelyazko Zhelev, the Commander of the LOT, welcomed COM EUFOR and introduced the personnel serving in the LOT House.
The team in the LOT house briefed COM EUFOR on the present situation in the area and the ongoing LOT activities. They explained how they have developed a warm and professional relationship with their neighbours and the local authorities.  COM EUFOR praised the Bulgarian soldiers for their efforts and he was particularly impressed with the positive interaction the LOT team had with the schools of the Bugojno region.
Whilst in Bugojno, COM EUFOR also took the opportunity to lay a wreath at the memorial of Policeman Tarik Ljubuskic.  Officer Ljubuskic was killed by a terrorist explosion at the town’s police station on the 27 June 2010.
