In order to support the BiH authorities regarding their preparations for the 16th commemoration in Srebrenica, Commander EUFOR and EUFOR staff members had a co-ordination meeting on the 4th of July in Bratunac with the representatives of the police agencies in BiH and the EUPM. Present at the meeting were Major General Bernhard Bair, COM EUFOR, the Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, Mr. Himzo Selimovic and RS Director of Police, Mr. Gojko Vasić and Head of the HQ for Security of Srebrenica 2011 Commemoration, Mr. Vasilje Andrić, with their respective staffs.
Today’s meeting marked a further step in the excellent relationship and good co-operation among EUFOR and EUPM with the BiH authorities. The extensive exchange of information for this important commemoration is proof of the shared interest and the collective efforts to provide a safe and secure environment for all participants during the commemoration period in Srebrenica and Bratunac.
Similar to last year, a EUFOR helicopter will be on standby in Bratunac for medical evacuation duties.
The preparation for this event shows again that different law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina are ready and willing to work together.
