On 14th June 2010, the Parliamentary Austrian Armed Forces Commission, accompanied by Lieutenant General Christian Segur-Cabanac, Director General of Directorate General IV (Operations), visited HQ EUFOR and met COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair. The Delegation, headed by the President of the Commission, Mr. Anton Gaál, was briefed by COS EUFOR, Brigadier General Gerd Bischof, about all aspects of the EUFOR ALTHEA Mission.

The delegation consisting of the President of the Commission MAP (ret) Mr. Gaál, Chairman MAP (ret) Mr. Paul Kiss, MAP Mrs. Christine Lapp, Mr. Christian Schiesser, MAP (ret) Mr. Walter Murauer, MAP (ret) Dr. Reinhard Eugen Bösch, Delegate to Landtag (ret) Mr. Günther Barnet, Mr. Nikolaus Kunrath, Senior Legal Secretary Mag. Karl Schneemann and Mrs. Sabine Gsaxner were tasked with visiting the Austrian soldiers in Camp Butmir and Camp TUZLA, in order to provide information to the Austrian MoD and Parliament.

The members of the Parliamentary Austrian Armed Forces Commission are appointed by the Austrian Parliament and are tasked to visit all Austrian troops in order to assess the best conditions for soldiers during a mission. The delegation also met with the High Representative/Special Representative of European Union Dr. Valentin Inzko and the Austrian Ambassador Dr. Donatus Köck during their two day visit to BiH.
