COM EUFOR’s key message on the occasion of his visit to the memorial centers in BIH is as follows
“I am here today to pay tribute to all victims of armed conflict in this country irrespective of their ethnicity, religion or gender.
Every single crime committed in armed conflict is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the international community.
UN Security Council Resolution 1894 adopted on the 11th of November 2009 reaffirms the international community’s commitment to the protection of all civilians in situations of armed conflict with particular emphasis on refugees, internally displaced persons, women, children and other vulnerable groups. To this end I request that all decision makers, public representatives and office holders ensure the dissemination of this resolution in order to maximize its impact and reduce unnecessary suffering.”
