AFBiH Medevac Demonstration

MEDEVAC 21st October 2009 – Armed Forces of Bosnia & Herzogovina held a demonstration of Medical Evacuation (Medevac) capabilties at Rajlovac barracks.  EUFOR personnel assisted in the planning of the two-part exercise, which also included assets of the local police, ambulance, fire brigade and the Civil Protection Agencies of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH. 

In the first part of the demonstration, the scenario was a large car crash with multiple casualties requiring rapid removal to medical facilities, including by airlift utilizing AFBiH’s Gazelle and UH-1H helicopters.  The second scenario involved an attack on a supply convoy, enabling AFBiH to display their force protection capabilities and medevac using an MI-8 helicopter.  The very professionally executed demonstration was presided over by Brigadier General Foric (Deputy Operations Commander, AFBiH). COM EUFOR was represented by Colonel Sahinol (Head of Operations, EUFOR).
