An intense and dynamic training exercise took place in Camp Butmir, which saw French troops working alongside Italian members of EUFOR’s aviation detachment. The exercise involved the use of CH-47 Chinook heavy lift helicopters and Polaris Sportsman all terrain vehicles, to rehearse the insertion and extraction of French small reconnaissance teams.
Training of this nature enhances EUFORs ability to rapidly deploy these assets anywhere within the region, and affords reconnaissance troops a high degree of mobility and speed across difficult terrain.
EUFOR continuously conducts challenging and robust training exercises, to ensure a high degree of operational readiness and ability to support the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Law Enforcement Agencies in maintaining a safe, secure and stable environment for all citizens.
