A proud moment for the EUFOR Multinational Battalion: Lieutenant Colonel Martin Netzer officially handed over the position of Deputy Commander to Major Wolfgang Schiffermayer, marking the successful completion of his mandate.
This ceremony was more than a change in leadership, it was a powerful symbol of continuity, professionalism, and the unwavering commitment of Austrian soldiers to EUFOR ALTHEA’s mission.
In recognition of his outstanding performance and support to the Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Netzer was awarded the Emblem of Merit Partner for Defense, 2nd Class, of the Romanian Armed Forces, on behalf of General Gheorghiță Vlad, Chief of Defense Staff of the Romanian Armed Forces. The decoration was presented by the Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Ioan Rus.
