Major General Bernhard Bair, COM EUFOR welcomed Dr Wolfgang Waldner, Austrian State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, to EUFOR Headquarters today, 15 Jun. The State Secretary held an Office Call with COM EUFOR where he was briefed on the current situation in the country and the status of the EUFOR mission in BiH. They engaged in discussions about EUFOR tasks and capabilities in support of BiH’s efforts to maintain the safe and secure environment. They concluded by discussing the continuing co-operation with the Armed Forces BiH in a number of areas, such as training.
Major General Bernhard Bair, the Commander of EUFOR welcomed H.E Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary to Camp Butmir. An Honour Guard comprising of personnel from the Multi-National Battalion formally marked the arrival of the Prime Minister to EUFOR Headquarters.
In an Office Call, COM EUFOR briefed the Prime Minister on current situation in the country and the status of the EUFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They engaged in a wide ranging set of discussions about EUFOR’s role as the military component of the overarching European Security and Defence Policy mission in BIH, EUFOR tasks and capabilities in support of BiH’s efforts to maintain the safe and secure environment.
Prime Minister Orban then took the opportunity to visit the members of Hungarian Contingent that serve as part of EUFOR. Currently, Hungarian personnel serve within the Multi-national Battalion and EUFOR Headquarters, including the Deputy Commander role. In addition, they provide a Mobile Training Team delivering Senior Non Commissioned Officer training.
