On Thursday 20 October 2016 the Minister of Defence of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Dr Zoran Jolevski was welcomed by EUFOR Commander Major General Friedrich Schrötter. Upon arrival he was greeted by EUFOR and an honour guard from the Multi-National Battalion (MNBN) consisting of Turkish Soldiers. On completion of an office call COMEUFOR and Dr Zoran Jolevski paid their respects by laying a wreath at the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia memorial in Camp BUTMIR.

EUFOR Operation Althea is currently made up of soldiers from 15 EU member states and 5 partner nations. The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia currently has 3 officers supporting the mission. EUFOR’s primary roles are to provide capacity building and training support to the Armed Forces of BiH and to support BiH efforts to maintain a safe and secure environment, whilst providing support to the overall EU comprehensive strategy for BiH.
