COS EUFOR Visits LOT Kladanj

On 8th May 2010 the COS EUFOR, Brigadier General Gerd Bischof, visited a Turkish Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) house within the Regional Cooperation Center (RCC) 5 Area of Responsibility.

The LOT house is situated in the small town of Kladanj and supports a population of approximately 15,000 inhabitants and it was readily apparent that the Turkish and Italian soldiers are well integrated within the local community. Over the years the EUFOR contingents have developed warm and professional relations with their neighbours and the local authority provided the fire cover for the arrival and departure of the EUFOR helicopter.

Entirely satisfied that the LOT House was an efficient operation General Bischof congratulated the soldiers saying:

“LOT houses continue to make an important contribution to the safe and secure environment in BiH and you are the eyes, ears and mouthpiece for the EUFOR Althea mission.”
